Fashion blogger Lisa Linh knows what it takes to be a successful fashion blogger. She has built a brand from the ground up and considers herself to be a “content creator” and it shows when she wears her favorite BED|STÜ products.
We sat down with Lisa to learn more about her life as a fashion blogger.
1. You bring a unique culture to the fashion industry. Does that inhibit or help your niche in the fashion industry?
“Well, I’m not too sure what you consider unique. As a blogger, photographer and someone with a background in the marketing/public relations, I do see things a lot differently than others. I also understand what brands are trying to convey when they collaborate and therefore end up building long-term relationships with the people I work with. I strive to be more than just outfits, as I refocus my blog and brand towards a lifestyle approach focused specifically on my versatile style, food adventures, and weekend getaways.”
2. What is your long term goal as a fashion blogger?
“My long term goal is to be more than just a ‘blogger.’ I’ve been trying to nix the blogger term in association with my brand as I don’t just blog. I create and consider myself a content creator / creative curator. In the long-run, I want to be a source of reference for upcoming people in the industry and guide others with my own personal experience/knowledge. I enjoy inspiring and influencing people, therefore my blog is to be a place that people go to for advice, good reads, places to eat, what to wear, and where to go for a quick getaway.”
3. Interested in starting your own brand one day?
“If you’re referring to creating a clothing line, probably not. I much rather work on capsules with companies that I admire and love than launching my own. I’ve created a small t-shirt capsule last summer but I’d rather stay in my lane and do what I really know how to do.”
4. Tell me something very strange that has happened to you in the blogger world?
“I’ve gotten mixed up with another blogger a few times, due to similarities in name. This includes receiving her emails, packages, and being tagged incorrectly.”
5. Are there any specific bloggers you look to for inspiration?
6. What is one of the best experiences you’ve had working in fashion?
The relationships created and the opportunities provided to me in this year alone have been great! I took the risk, quit my job, and doors just kept opening up. I cannot be more grateful for the network I have and the people I’ve met through blogging.
7. Tell me something quirky about yourself
I’m a big planner person, which also means that I have yet to find the perfect planner and buy at least 3-5 every year. My search continues.
8. An advice for people looking to get into fashion?
Be prepared to sacrifice sleeping, eating, social life and your relationship.
9. How have you’ve seen technology affect fashion?
Marketing has shifted and the reliance on digital media influencers is still progressing. We’re not going anywhere! Social media will change but the usage of digital influencers is definitely going to be around.
10. Anything else you want to add?
Why I Love BED|STÜ! I have never found a company/brand that is as dedicated and passionate as the BED|STÜ team. Every person you meet, you just know that they absolutely love their job. People have grown with the company and work harder than any other employee elsewhere, because they want to. The quality of the leather, the styles presented and the fact that they know what they’re doing is why I love and rely on BED|STÜ.
